SGE provides engineering procurement & construction (EPC) of advanced Waste to Energy (WtE) plants to generate electricity from household waste with ultra-clean emissions. The objective is to ultimately eliminate the use of landfills to dispose of our waste and prevent the associated generation of greenhouse gases, harmful emissions, and hazardous run-off.

Global Opportunity: Over 2 billion tonnes of MSW is produced annually worldwide, with over 1/3 of this waste not managed in an environmentally safe manner.

Australian Opportunity: Australia produces over 13.8 million tonnes of MSW annually, with more than 40% ending up in landfills.

SGE has keen insights into large-scale electricity storage solutions for short, medium and long timescales. Our experience ranges from Li-ion batteries to flow batteries, including hydrogen innovations and other emerging solutions, allowing us to provide uniquely positioned advisory services across the sector.

SGE itself has invested in and is developing a promising metal-based flow battery technology that is ideal to replace lithium batteries for medium-term electricity storage (hours – days) on the grid. SGE is actively assisting in securing the entire pipeline, from raw materials to project implementation planning and financial structuring.

SGE represents a second-generation solar technology, that reimagines solar panels and solar farms from the ground up, to dramatically lower the cost of energy. Both the scale and speed of production and implementation are orders of magnitude higher than existing commercial technologies, allowing businesses & countries to realise their ambitious renewable targets.

This includes an SGE initiative (Agri-Tanga), bringing together expertise from Australian & African farmers for cropping, artificial insemination, abattoir management, and refrigerated meat distribution using proven “paddock to plate” methodologies to harness underutilized land. Agri-Tanga simultaneously increases local agricultural output in Africa and provides exportation of high demand crops and meat to middle-eastern countries seeking long-term food security.

Additionally, through our partners, we have advanced capabilities in soil rehabilitation and monitoring to deliver optimized solutions to boost agricultural output in farms, depleted land, or even to transform landscapes to their natural ecological state or produce green infrastructure.
